Different purpose if you will. Registering a website or whatever on AdaIC just adds one more place that people can look and maybe find your reusable library. With the registry, the main benefit for everyone is a standard format for describing reusable software. Even if you don't share your software with anyone, or outside your own company, using the standard repository format to describe and link to it should make it easier for people to use--even you. (And if it doesn't do that, it will fail.) And what I have already found from experiments is that the level of effort to do a good job of entering an existing library is significant, but the rewards are worth it. For example, did you know that there is a binding to Oracle's OCI as part of GNADE?
