So long as I can make an instantiation of Bounded_String and just say "Go_Find_Me_This_Thing (X)" where X is a Bounded_String and I get it back length-adjusted - *then* I could see it having sufficient utility to make it worth whatever extra pain in the posterior it creates. (Granted, its not a huge pain - but enough that I'd feel I needed to get something more than knowing where the end of the string was.) Oh, and BTW, it would have to be fixed to work nicely and automatically with Text_IO while we're at it. Then you'd have something there. Nova Scotia? Interesting venue. If you have a meeting in the winter months, you may want to consider Sunny West Palm Beach Florida. Schedule the meeting to start on a Friday and end on a Monday. :-) Its a very popular thing to do. BTW, if you think I'm making a big deal of the extra work in Bounded_String - I'm not really of the opinion that it is hugely inconvenient. Its just that the effort to utilize it compared to String is some number greater than zero (not a big number - but bigger than 0) and basically, I think I only get two things from it: "Jack" and "S**t" and "Jack" is only going to tell me where the last character is, so he doesn't do much. ;-) MDC Robert I.
