The short answer is that you can use generics to implement the trait pattern in Ada. But I don't see this pattern as having a significant advantage over mix-ins. (Mix-in inheritance doesn't have the problems in Ada that the paper describes for mix-ins in Smalltalk.) However, I will keep the pattern in mind.
