Its called "Supply and Demand". Although many have tried, nobody successfully violates it for very long. The "Correct" rate to pay someone is equal to the "Going" rate. A thing is only worth what you can get someone to pay for it - including one's labor. My advice would be to get comfortable with that law, study it thoroughly and learn to use it to your best advantage, because otherwise you will go through life flogging a dead horse and being frustrated over the fact that it won't run. If wages aren't high enough in London to meet your expectations, help improve that situation by reducing the supply of labor in that area. Take a job in some other area where the wages and cost of living are more to your liking. We're seeing that sort of thing take place here in the US where California is experiencing a loss of businesses and workers as they move to lower cost states. Wages in California look really nice until you factor in all the costs of living there. Whereas here in my home state of Florida, population is going up at least in part because the cost of living & doing business here is comparatively lower than in some other states. (It doesn't hurt that we have all that sunshine, palm trees, tropical beaches and girls in bikinis either. ;-) MDC Luke A.
