I'd have to check old ARG minutes to set an exact date, I think 1988. (There was an ARG meeting in Munich along with the Ada Europe meeting.) An dinner during the ARG meeting we tried to figure if there was anyone sitting at the table who qualified. (Jean Ichbiah was there along with John Barnes, Robert Dewar, Mike Woodger and a few others active early in the Ada design effort.)
