That is one of the things I love about Ada - you can let the compiler do so much of the work for you. I have often had people new to Ada come to me asking "can I do this or that in Ada?" - I usually tell them to try it and see - let the compiler tell you if it won't work; you will learn something from the exercise in either case. It is hard to imagine using a language and compiler without this level of checking again.
