(Not that you need to implement both immediately.) I'm not sure that the benefits of the Registry out way the problems. The Registry seems a major step backward in term of system coupling. A program that corrupts the Registry can effect not only itself but the operation of almost any other program on the system. A program that corrupts its .ini file usually only impacts its own operation.
