I agree on this. I have removed the ISO completly from my Agenda. .......... > > What I think would be most useful is to generate new bindings and > useful packages. If you look at the open source community, progress has not been achieved by ISO style of working groups. In most cases "..release early and often.." and the fact that the code was "..use full.." in community context was generating most of the dynamic and the progress. So i am realy wondering why it is not possible to gather some people, make a reference implementation of a reasonable set of simple and well documented package set. There have been a lot of attempts so far as i know, but my personal impression was that the way woas more important then the reaching the destination. So i am realy wondering if the "..community .." namely comp.lang.ada realy needs these nice package? Any how, i need these packages saving precious time. So I guess somebody else may need them as well. This already makes it worth to make an additional attempt! So i am realy wondering if ACT could establish some kind of public contribtion process. This would make it possible to boundle the compiler with some of these packages. I would expect that ACT, which is an authority in comp.lang.ada, could be the crystalisation point for a lot of currently uncoordinated activities. What do you think? Regards M.Erdmann
