I'm just stating why I believe it hasn't been done. While you are stating why someone might want to do it. And we're both right, as long as you leave in the "might" (A new meaning for "might" makes right) :-) If I had a year's living expenses in the bank, I'd consider taking a sabbatical and doing something like that. There's really no other way to create a development environment with the marketing appeal of something that created by a full-time staff and marketed by another full-time staff.
