Of 27,615 projects on Sourceforge, zero use COBOL, yet COBOL is the most commonly used language in the world. Just because it's not the current fad language or the language of choice for hackers does not mean a language is dead. Ada is the international language of choice when software quality is the prime concern, such as safety-critical systems.
