Well, both the Eiffel folks and the Ada folks (with a few exceptions) posted to Usenet instead of e-mail. The Ada folks were a lot less evasive than the Eiffel folks, but I'm only going to summarize what was not posted. Ada: concurrency, generics, validation, class mechanism not confused with encapsulation mechanism, that a function can return a structure of run-time-determined discriminants. Eiffel: DBC (pre/post-conditions, invariants), multiple inheritance Both: clean syntax, static type checking, avoiding errors instead of slinging out code faster. Why: To be posted next week.
