Contact the Secretary, Dave Emery (emery@mitre-bedford.arpa) (MITRE, MS A156, Bedford, MA 01730). I need your name, address, phone number and an email address (email not required, but it helps). To get on the posix-ada mailing list, send email to posix-ada-request%grebyn.com@umd5.umd.edu. The other thing to do is show up at the meetings and do work. To actually vote on the standard you must be an IEEE member. You do not have to be an IEEE member to work on the standard. To Get IEEE POSIX documentation and attend IEEE POSIX Meetings: This costs money. The money pays for the mailing overhead and also for meeting costs. The fee schedule depends on what mailings and meetings you attend, and runs in the ballpark of $100 to $400. Contact Quin Hahn (CDC, M/C HQC01P, P.O. Box 0, Minneapolis MN 55440-4700) (612 853-8848). The next POSIX-Ada Meeting: The next meeting of the P1003.5 Ada Language Binding to POSIX Working Group will be 7 - 9 Sep 88 at the Compri Hotel, 2700 Pilot Knob Rd, Eagan, MN. The hotel is 5 miles east of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport. Anyone wishing to attend should contact Suzanne Lindquist, 612-782-7513 no later than 22 Auguest 88. Reservations may be made directly with the hotel by calling 612-454-3434. The tenative agenda will focus on discussion of each chapter as assigned at the Houston meeting. The next IEEE POSIX Committee (POSIX-Ada's Parent Organization) Meeting: The next meeting of IEEE P1003 will be 24 - 28 October 1988 at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, 2424 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815, Tel number 808-922-9292. Reservation cutoff date is September 22, 1988. IEEE receives special rates of eiter $100.00 for "run-of-mountain" accommodations or $145.00 for "run-of-ocean" accommondations. (I not sure what that is suppose to mean) Classic Conferences sets up our meetings. Questions or problems can be taken care of by contacting them at Foster City, CA, tel 415-349-5484. We also get a discount of 40% from normal coach fare with United or Delta Airlines. To get the special rate, call United at 800-521-4041, and give them the IEEE account number 8092N. To get the special rate with Delta, call 800-241-6760 and give them IEEE account number E0333. There are restrictions to both these arrangements. Travel must commence between October 22-30 for United and October 21-28 for Delta. Additionally, with Delta only, the maximum stay is 21 days. There will not be a formal meeting of the 1003.5 Ada Binding Comittee at this meeting, but representatives of the Ada Binding Committee will attend. There will be a meeting of the 1003.4 Real-Time Committee, and they are very interested in discussing Ada issues at this meeting. Contact me for more information. dave emery emery@mitre-bedford.arpa
