For what it's worth, I believe that is the Latin-1 symbol that got morphed into the Euro currency symbol recently, so we were lucky to avoid using it. And we would still have to have decided on the precedence, even though it was proposed only as a unary operator. Would it have precedence like "+" or like "abs"?
