Agreed.  Of course, there are other factors as well.

If you want your ballpoint pen to work under any conditions,
from underwater to tropical desert to Antartica in winter,
because lives depend on the message absolutely being written,
it's going to be more expensive than what's on sale
at the office supply superstore.

The last 1% of "everywhere" might add 100x to the cost.
