I.m going with your talking about people going from some language (say Ada) to another (say Java)... I'd say it is more like sending a US driver to England... > Below 60 mph everything is normal. Hey less stupid people, I'm all for it :-) (joke! - well I am not for stupid people... but it might include me... who knows :-) > Things designed to be used by humans should strive for "reasonable", > "expected" behavior whenever possible, and should notify the human when > that's not possible. How long has C been around? Its not like this is a new issue. And if you take the people using Java as a first language then there is no issue (they get told that this is the way it is). When you switch from one language to another, or just compare languages, your going to think that the new language does some lame assed things... I felt that way about Java (I still do for some things)... but get over it. ..darcy -- D'Arcy Smith Sr. Software Engineer Symantec, Internet Tools Division If you simply reply to this email it will get forwarded to /dev/null My Email address is darcy at itools dot symantec dot com
