If an elementary school student asks you "is the moon round" the appropriate answer is "yes". But if a spacecraft designer asks you the same question, the answer is something like "approximately, but with such and such deviations". To answer a question it really is necessary to make some assumptions about where the questioner is coming from. Assuming they are simply too stupid to have looked in the Ada 95 LRM may not be an appropriate assumption, though teachers of beginning programming may be biased toward that assumption.
