A reasonable number of methods in the Java libraries have had to be deprecated because they are not thread safe I think you might be surprised when your libraries screw up when you try to write a threaded C++ program - have they been designed with threading in mind? Do the C++ compiler vendors certify that their libraries work with threading? Geoff
