That one kinda surprised me as well because Ada was designed to be safe but also designed to support low level hardware access if needed. I mean, the language was originally targetted for embedded weapons systems and such, BTW - The onboard systems on the Boeing 777 are written in Ada. As are most of the train systems in Europe.
