Someone *did* encapsulate this functionality so it is reusable, and a simple post to this newsgroup led to at least one, and possibly two, sources of the component you need. But now you are asking for those software components to also not cost anything. There are many things in this world that you can buy, rather than make. There are quite a bit fewer that somebody will make for you, and donate to you for free.
