When I start gps.exe, I first get a dialog "created config directory c:\.gps", then the splash screen splashes. And that's the end of it. There it sits until I salute ctrl-alt-del. This machine is running Windows 98, and there is a gtkada-1.3.12/bin on my path. And the gps does seem to have lots of good stuff, including documentation that does not address this issue - so I hypothesize it is correctly installed. I also performed an install on my laptop, which runs Window XP, and GPS starts up much more normally (subject to a more thorough inspection). So should I expect to have trouble running under '98? Or is there some step have missed? Thx John
