A general knowledge of solid state physics would probably require a knowledge of quantum physics, which in turn may give the possesor of such knowledge great influence with the science of programing computers relying on quantum uncertainty to carry out their calculations... I mean sure Gates will write a VB compiler for it, but for those of us who take our software seriously it *may* be possible to introduce entirerly new and *better* methods of software engineering. In the same way, one would be prudent to keep an eye on DNA computing in the near future, even if you do need to use a bit of bio-chem to understand it. If my father had stuck with his job as a typesetter, I would probably be too poor now (yeah I still live with my folks) to afford this computer. -- --------------------------------------------------------------- These views do not nessesarily reflect the views of the CIA... er... *ahem* Larry's Pizza, Cnr Main, Harboyle St, Il. ---------------------------------------------------------------
