Actually no, it was a strong and immediate reaction. On further thought and reflection... it's still my reaction. Whether it was worth posting on a newsgroup is another matter. Maybe it is: if only one C programmer has a go at Eiffel, or Modula-3, or (best IMHO) Ada-95 then it might give them ideas on how to improve C, or a descendent (Java, anyone?). So the state-of-the-art might improve. Language wars are a WOFTAM. Hard data has been collected on productivity enhancements in various domains, showing that what language you use DOES matter. Of course Beta being superior to VHS didn't help it. -- aebrain@dynamite.com.au <> <> How doth the little Crocodile | Alan & Carmel Brain| xxxxx Improve his shining tail? | Canberra Australia | xxxxxHxHxxxxxx _MMMMMMMMM_MMMMMMMMM abrain@cs.adfa.oz.au o OO*O^^^^O*OO o oo oo oo oo By pulling MAERKLIN Wagons, in 1/220 Scale
