One must consider also the invasions of English _from_ Great Britain to other parts of the globe. For instance, from its invasion of North America, English has gained Amerindian words such as "okay", "squash", "potato", "tomato", "maize", "chocolate", etc. Then there are words borrowed from the original Indians, due to Britain�s invasion of their subcontinent, words such as: "khaki", "nabob", "pundit", "thug", etc. Then there is the more recent invasion of Britain into North American, for which we can thank such worthy additions as "groovy", "fab", and "beatlemania". :-) -- Internet.Usenet.Put_Signature (Name => "John G.
