The PERFORMANCE DATABASE SYSTEMS ENGINEER will analyze and compile aircraft performance data; generate binary data for loading into Flight Management Computers; write specifications describing data formats and code Operational Flight software for use of performance data. Data analysis is accomplished with numerical analytic techniques and tools on VAX and PCs. Data is extracted from a variety of sources including operations and performance engineers' manuals and source code, among others. The successful candidate will have a BS to Ph.D. in electrical, computer or aeronautical engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science and up to 5 years of engineering experience. Applicants should have a basic knowledge of aircraft performance, numerical analysis and experience in data analysis. Knowledge of Ada, C language and Visual Basic for Applications is desirable.
