The financing plan, from DynCorp and Siemens Pyramid Information Systems Inc., leverages procurement reforms that give agencies more flexibility in spending operations and maintenance funds for hardware, software and services, the vendors said. By redirecting O&M funds, agencies could make lease-to-purchase payments to cover 2000 fixes and rehosting costs, officials with DynCorp of Reston, Va., said. DynCorp and Siemens Pyramid officials said the Army, Air Force and Defense Information Systems Agency are evaluating their systems to see which ones are suitable for rehosting under the fixed-price, fixed-time program. This book was written with the professional programmer, using C/C++ and looking for the skills to retrain to Ada 95, in mind. "Ada 95 for C and C++ Programmers" covers what one needs to know to program in Ada 95, taking you through not only the differences in syntax but also the conceptual differences in how the languages are used. Addressing the changes in the Ada programming language due to the new 1995 standard, this book provides practical advice and real-life examples for the experienced programmer. Some of the book's features include: an accompanying CD-ROM which contains expanded examples of the code used in the text, excerpts from the text in HTML with hypertext links to the relevant examples; and, a Special Edition of the ObjectAda compiler for Windows 95 and NT which features Win32 bindings, symbolic debugger, semantic browser and a language-sensitive editor. V-One Corp. of Rockville, MD, is modifying its SmartWall for DMS service under a National Security Agency program. The message-handling firewall, called DMSGate, will run on Windows NT, SunSoft Solaris and Hewlett-Packard HP-UX platforms. It will contain the Eagle application-level firewall from Raptor Systems Inc., of Waltham, MA, and will protect transmissions between network enclaves with different sensitivity levels.
