I agree with your point about the concept. I too used to work with such a language - RMCOBOL Pcode - the lang that really got UNIX started in the commercial world - but you have to be joking to put these into the same class as Java. Java has the backing of the biggest and second biggest software companies in the world (even though the support of the second is very very dubious).
