Much better than "Hopper", which something that everything >gets thrown in :). I thought "Hopper" was taken (as a language), but I can't find it now. Disadvantages that I see: Its 5 characters, which is a bit longer than most of the alternatives so far. It could further associate the language with the DoD. It could associate the language with Cobol (Grace Hopper helped invent it). Its not a palindrome. :-) Advantages: At 5 characters, its not undully long. It honors one of the greats in the history of CS. As a first name instead of a last name, it fits the same scheme used for "Ada". There is also a sensible acronym for it. The word itself has positive connotations that we would all like to see signs of in our source code. --- T.E.D. homepage - http://www.telepath.com/dennison/Ted/TED.html No trees were killed in the sending of this message.
