Grant Collins (grant@saturn.cs.swin.OZ.AU) asks about Tartan
Laboratories.

The company has changed its name from Tartan Laboratories to
Tartan, Inc.

They do (or did) have a program of free compilers for universities,
though I believe it is only for Sun-3 products.  I suggest you contact
