For example, I want to overload OPEN so I can print an error containing the file name from my new OPEN subprogram when a file open error occurs. I've just started teaching myself ada and I wrote my first program today ("hello world" =;^). Just for the record I've been programming in C (C for choatic) for the past two years and I'm looking forward to Ada programming. From what little I've read, I can tell that I'll like it. Ada seems to strike me as a software designer's/engineer's language; and C is ... well, lets say it's caused me enough headaches when programming in team projects. I think the only thing I might miss is variable argument lists and the printf statement ( remember, I don;t know much about Ada). Thanks in advance. -- <<<<<<<<<< Brian Hayes hayes%bh_ddemo3@hac2arpa (310) 616-5129 >>>>>>>>>>>>
