CSCI's, CSC's, and CSU's have been replaced with flexible generics that can be redefined to meet the needs of the project, design methodology, and language used. The speaker will discuss the intent of J-STD-016/MIL-STD-498 system and software architectural entities and the status of the current and planned revisions to the standards. Myrna Olson Personal Information: Myrna Olson is the editor of J-STD-016, Software Development, the industry version of MIL-STD-498. She has been project lead for the development of the US implementation of ISO/IEC 12207, project manager and associate author of MIL-STD-498, principal author of the Application and Reference Guide for MIL-STD-498, associate author of the Overview and Tailoring Guide to MIL-STD-498, the Tailoring Guide for DOD-STD-2167A, and the MIL-HDBK-286, A Guide for DOD-STD-2168, Defense System Software Quality Program. Myrna has managed the development of the Software Acquisition ADVISOR Tool, a PC-based software system developed in Ada using OOD, designed to aid DoD program managers, their staffs, and others acquire and support weapon systems containing software. She has taught classes on DOD-STD-2167A, DOD-STD-2168, Software Engineering, Validation and Verification, and provided advice to acquirers and developers and regarding acquisition, development and support of software. Myrna holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with emphasis in Computer Information Systems (CIS), and a Master of Science in Software Engineering (MSSE). She is President of Process Technology Group and a well known author.
