That's only one of the 4 freedoms you have, and you may *not* be restricted from selling or modifying it. "Free Software" is in fact defined by the 4 rights you have. They are (this is mostly a direct quote): 0) The freedom to run the software for any purpose. 1) The freedom to study how the program works, and adapt it to your needs 2) The freedom to redistribute copies. 3) The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements to the public. Note this has nothing to say about how you got it in the first place. It also says nothing about any freedom to combine it with other stuff and distribute that.
