Message-ID: <199@hlhop.UUCP> Date: Tue, 8-Nov-83 09:35:51 EST Article-I.D.: hlhop.199 Posted: Tue Nov 8 09:35:51 1983 Date-Received: Wed, 9-Nov-83 08:58:14 EST Organization: AT&T Bell Laboratories, Short Hills, NJ List-Id: I've recently received (via a grant) the Intel 432 cross development system (which allows for Ada source code to be developed on a VAX and run on the 432 execution vehicle). One of the major limitations of the system is the lack of a multi-user capability on the system. Since I received the grant jointly with Stevens Institute of Technology, it will (eventually) revert to them and at that level, a multi-user OS is really needed. To this end, I am currently implementing a UNIX-like operating system on the 432. This OS will be written in Ada (except, possibly the device drivers). Rumor has it that UCal, Santa Barbara (I believe) has done work along these lines, I would appreciate hearing any responses from individuals who have worked on the 432. Steven M.
