1995 - 1983 = 12.  So my math ain't so good.

What became known as Ada was in process prior to 1975.
10 is a quite good approximation to the number of years
from inception to the first standard (if not first product).
The first estimates were that the initial compiler(s)
would be available by the end of 1975.
