Sponsored by Dublin City University. SCOPE OOIS'95 is the second International Conference on Object-Oriented Information Systems, and will be held on 18-20 December 1995, at Dublin City University, Ireland. OOIS'95 seeks to build upon the success of OOIS'94 by inviting papers from both industry and academia. The first, academic, stream of the conference will emphasise research trends in object-oriented concepts and principles. Papers which explore object technology in any of the following areas will be welcome: * Concepts and Methodology * Data Modelling * Database Management Systems * Decision Support Systems * Multimedia Systems * Networked Systems * Human Computer Interaction * Expert Systems and Applications * Object-oriented Metrics * Standards Issues * Software Re-use * Interoperable Systems * Model Based Diagnosis and Reasoning * Distributed Systems * Data Exchange between Heterogeneous Systems The aim of the second stream of the conference is to explore "state of the art" applications in industry where object technology is increasingly important and widely used . The conference particularly invites contributions from industrial practitioners. Such papers may explore aspects of introducing this technology in live situations, for example: * Experiences of applying object technology to information systems * Measuring the effectiveness of object technology in live applications * Mission critical applications of OOIS and OODBs PAPER SUBMISSION Four copies of the paper should be sent by May 26, 1995 to John Murphy. Submissions should include: (1) Name, affiliation, and complete address for each author. (2) A designated contact person including his/her telephone number and e-mail address. (3) A designated presenter, should the paper be accepted. (4) The following signed statement: "All appropriate organisational pprovals for the publication of this paper have been obtained. If accepted, the author(s) will prepare the final manuscript in time for inclusion in the Conference proceedings and will present the paper at the conference." The complete text of the paper in English, including a 60-word abstract should be submitted. Long papers should be less than 16 pages (double-spaced) in length, suitable for presentation in 25 minutes. Short papers, up to 4 pages, suitable for presentation in 10 minutes. Long papers should present the results of original work in one or more of the listed areas of interest. Short papers need not make such a substantial contribution to the field, and in particular may report work in progress, or describe an industrial application, developed using well-tried techniques. Authors should indicate the preferred stream (academic or industrial) under which their contributions are to be considered. All authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection by July 28, 1995, and will be given instructions for final preparation of their papers at that time. In order to appear in the Proceedings, the camera-ready copy must reach the Organising Chair by September 9, 1995.
