(David Weller) Subject: InfoWorld sings praises for Ada Message-ID: <1993Jul10.164749.24385@sei.cmu.edu> List-Id: On page 44 of the July 5th issue of InfoWorld, a leading weekly newspaper for personal computing, Bob Metcalfe writes an article encouraging C developers to move to Ada. In the several years that I've been a subscriber to InfoWorld, this is the first time I've seen the "A-word" mentioned (and, by the way, there's a great joke at the beginning of the article that may give some insight as to why :-). Better still, he talks about the _free_ Ada resources available (OK, he only mentions the GNAT project and the AdaIC BBS, but it's a start!). Now, I don't expect to see Ada vendors flocking to InfoWorld to take out full page advertisements, but I do see this as a sign. In the last several months, I've talked to more and more C/C++ programmers who no longer uncontrollably snicker when I say "Ada". I certainly hope this is the start of a trend. -- -Comments above aren't neceessarily the opinion of the SEI, AJPO, or CAE-Link- David Weller | Have you hugged your DRAGOON lately? ----I'm the Ultimate International Masochist: I speak Ada AND Esperanto!-----
