We use the compiler to create an object sublibrary. When the sublibrary is placed into a configuration-controlled library, part of the procedure is for the librarian to rebuild the object library, to verify that it can be rebuilt exactly from the source code. Is there a way to verify that the contents are exactly identical, with the exception of date/time stamps? The problem we're having is as follows. A VAX DIFFERENCES command shows that the rebuilt library is not identical. It is not obvious that the differences are only due to date/time stamps, since the object sublibrary isn't in human-readable form. One option we were thinking of is that perhaps there is a way to convert the COMPLETE sublibrary contents (not just a summary report) to equivalent human-readable form, in order to verify that the only differences are indeed date/time stamps. If there is a way to do this, we have not found it yet in the manual. Bill. ---------------------------------------------------------- William G.
