The compiler also uses the registry to find libraries. E.g. it is how it finds the Win32 bindings. You can see it with regedit or with the tool gnatreg (GUI variant in gwindows). The gnatcom installer sets an entry for it and the gwindows installer too. The only thing to do between installing gnatcom and gwindows is to make the gnatcom tools visible, e.g. by copying the .exe's into GNAT's bin directory that is in the PATH.
