With reference to C's name space (and rich operator set): I am convinced . that C was created by people who hated to type. No, but it was created on a system which used TTY 33s as the input devices and, as a consequence, the language and the associated OS (eunuchs) had a premium placed on short names... This was also the origin (or so I have been told) for Unix using only linefeed, instead of the more conventional CR/LF. A CR required a 250 ms timing loop and this would slow down the input device (a glass TTY). Regards, Mikey --- . MR/2 1.50 #63 . Money talks - mine says goodbye!
