That is understandable; from the other direction though when *specifically*= asking about Ada jobs/projects I get "No, we don't have anything like that= " responses mostly. (The few Ada job postings that I have seen want prior-j= ob experience, which I admittedly don't have, due to the former inability t= o find an Ada job.)=20 > Has the project/company actually tried *looking* for Ada programmers? We're good engineers, dammit, recognizing talent and deve= loping with Ada will get you a lot. Indeed, I think it may be the perception of progress/work. Ada forces a lot= of work done up-front, which is starkly contrasted by languages like PHP (= i.e. magic fairy-dust typing and error-apathy); oddly I think the fight-the= -language/counteract-the-pitfalls contributes to the perception of work (bu= t the thinking is directed at overcoming decencies of the language instead = of solving the problem). >=20 > (Oh, and by what metric is Ada *2012* "archaic"? Python dates from 1989, = C++ from 1979, and the likely monstrosity, Java, dates from 1991. The *youn= gest* of these is over 20 years old. Don't give me no "archaic" BS.) >=20 > Marc A.
