IDE's scare me off.... Actually GPS is pretty need. Do a right mouse click on any identifier and a popup menu appears where you can go strait to the definition of that identifier. You can also visualise call trees and such which can be quite handy at times. GPS just doesn't have intelisense - problem is that Microsoft has a patent on that.
