Sure. I think that a type system designed on behalf of others will profit when the designers look at the results of existing type systems in the hand of real people. If there were evidence that 80% of CVEs are caused by use of some fundamental types, would you suggest keeping those types and, I don't know, fire the guys who wrote the programs, telling them they shouldn't be programming?
