In discussions with C++ programmers concerning the ability to write templates for range-specified numeric types I discovered that C++ template language does not allow the specification of a floating point value as a template parameter. Therefore, while one can write a C++ template to handle range-specified integer classes, one cannot write a C++ template to handle range-specified floating point classes. In other words, C++ allows you to write a template that is equivalent to: type My_Integer_Type is range 1..10; But you cannot write a template equivalent to: type Voltage_Type is digits 11 range -5.0..5.0; Jim Rogers
