As a not native English speaker I'm guilty in this mess with the language too. :( I find it ironic that with regard to this thread I can feel your pain, but in a somewhat different way. Mathematical concepts like set and hash used once to develop computer libraries and languages now regarded as a "useless abstractions" and have completely different meaning.
