If you are having for loops with arrays in mind, a simple high level 
safe C++ solution exists. Consider:


#include <algorithm>
#include <vector>

inline int doubleF(const int &arg) { return 2*arg; }

// ...

vector<int>someArray(10, 1);

// ...

transform( someArray.begin(), someArray.end(),
            someArray.begin(), doubleF );


This can't ever be out of bounds.
