Any piece of maintained software goes through interim stages where it may have problems that render it less than suitable for wide release. Also, a non-public release of GNAT may have changes in it that were done for a particular customer and platform, and have not been widely tested on other platforms. So ACT requests that such releases not be publicly distributed. ACT customers aren't generally in the compiler distribution business themselves, so it's unlikely that they care, and if they need to, they can redistribute the compiler regardless. But they're certainly under no *obligation* to distribute to third parties. If you think GNAT Pro should be publicly distributed, why don't you become a supported ACT customer and do so?
