Just try wrinting some 100 equations in Word and > you'll see :-) Are you not aware that Word *has* keyboard shortcuts for its equation editor? This is the point of a good user interface. It makes all of its features visible so that the occasional user can do what is needed, and provides ways for the expert user to work quickly.
