The binding should works fine under UNIX but this is not tested. See: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/pascal_obry/contrib.html Here is the readme.txt: ------------------------------- $Id: readme.txt,v 1.2 1999/08/30 17:55:01 obry Exp $ Presentation ------------ In this package you'll find a port to NT of GDBM 1.8.0, the GNU data base manager, by Philip A. Nelson. There is also a thin Ada binding to GDBM. A thick binding to GDBM named AGDBM is also provided with the same spec than ADBM (A light Ada implementation of a data base manager). AGDBM interface is close to the standard Direct_IO package. This is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. With is inside this package: readme.txt this file gdbm-1.8.0-nt.diff patch file to build gdbm 1.8.0 under NT libgdbm.a GNU style library for NT gdbm.ads gdbm Ada spec (thin binding) agdbm.ad[sb] gdbm Ada thick binding testgdbm.adb a simple test program for the thin binding testagdbm.adb a simple test program for the thick binding The following files are taken from the standard GDBM distribution: gdbm.3 gdbm man page gdbm.texinfo texinfo gdbm manual gdbm.info Emacs info file gdbm.ps PostScript gdbm manual gdbm.h gdbm C header file Installation ------------ To install this package to use with GNAT just place libgdbm.a under /gnat/lib (/gnat must be replaced by the root directory where GNAT has been installed). Then copy gdbm.ads and agdbm.ad[sb] to your Ada components directory if you have one. I have included gdbm.h just in case you want to use GDBM from C. Enjoy !
