Gazelle(TM) is based on the Juice(1) technology. It uses the Oberon programing language, a streamlined Pascal type language which combines type strictness (like Pascal) with object orientation and dynamic binding (similar to Smalltalk or Lisp). Gazelle(TM) generates *portable* binary code. Gazelle(TM) slim binaries(1) are platform independent (currently Intel and Motorolla CPU's are supported), yet swift (Gazelle binaries have been benchmarked to run at speeds close to C++ native compiled code, about 10 - 15 times as fast as Java). In addition, Gazelle(TM) binaries have the advantage of typically being smaller than comparable native binaries and significantly smaller than Java VM binaries, making them especially well-suited for internet downloads. Gazelle(TM) binaries are compatible with the Juice(1) netscape plug-ins that have been tested with Netscape and Internet Explorer. The plug-ins are available for Intel based PC's running 32 Bit MS Windows and Macintosh compatible Power PCs. For further information please email Elan at icimjs@loop.com. Pls. include information regarding your programing platform, whether you have had experience programing with Pascal or Modula and pls. don't forget to include your preferred email address. Pls let us know if you are interested in other platforms besides Win95 for the Developer environment and/or for the plug-in.
