Although Ada is not the best suited language for an OO approach (or so I am told), it is the language that I am obliged to use (primarily because our standard infrastructure package is written in Ada). In addition to this, I am required to use DEC hardware (Vax or alpha workstations). From my investigations so far, I seem to have encountered a somewhat specialist realm! The only Vax-based OO CASE tools that will generate Ada packages I have found so far are "TEXEL" and "WESTMOUNT". TEXEL is named after the lady who developed the particular notation and approach and it is supposed to be similar to the more widely-known approaches of Coad/Yourdon and Rumbaugh. I do not have much information about WESTMOUNT yet, but it is based on Rumbaugh it seems. Does anybody have any experience of either of these tools? Do you know of any others? If you are able to provide me with any assistance in this matter it would be very much appreciated. Simon H.G. Rowell Project Leader - ENVISAT Simulator Tel: +49-6151-902817 Fax: +49-6151-902973
