There is a sweet spot somewhere between the extremes; finding it is tricky because, I believe, it's different for different people. Also an expert in a language will have a different outlook than a novice. Scala allows you to create new operators (in effect). That's one of those features that can be very nice when used with wisdom but absolutely terrible when used carelessly. Alas, for each wise usage of that feature I think there are probably 10 careless usages. Peter
